Salexia Trading Ltd was established in 2014 and is headquartered in Nicosia, Cyprus. We invest in private companies, mostly engaged in the trading in the passenger automotive, spare parts and tires.

Our strategy is to invest in companies that have successful development in operations, growing sustainable cash flows and which will deliver high growth returns for our shareholders.

Our strong team of associates, being a multitude of business professionals including investment analysts, qualified accountants, lawyers and other specialists, is dedicated to the growing of our invested companies and the rapid expansion of our business.

Ownership

The Ghabbour Group is an Egyptian manufacturer of automobiles, buses, trucks and motorcycles located in Cairo.

The company was founded in 1960 by the brothers Kamal and Sadek Ghabbour because they realized that the automotive sector was a growing market. In its early days the company was named Ghabbour Brothers. Formerly, the group was manufactured Saviem (later RVI) vehicles. Today the Group manufactures vehicles for numerous brands such as: Bajaj Auto, Hyundai and Volvo. With an annual output of 150,000 units, the Ghabbour Group is currently the largest automobile manufacturer in Egypt.

The Group focuses in four primary lines of business:

3. 3-wheelers & Moto
4. Other: Tires, Construction Equipment, Transportation Services

The Group has built a strong reputation in the market as ‘’standing behind its customers’’ and is renowned for providing an unmatched after-sales service network.

During July 2007, GB Auto began trading on the Cairo Stock Exchange, after successfully raising EGP 1.2 billion worth of new shares in an IPO.

Mr. Abbas El Sayed

Director

Mr. El Sayed holds a BA in Accounting from Ain Shams University. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

He has 14 years of experience gained from KPMG and Deloitte including 1.5 years in the UK at KPMG UK LLP. He has vast experience in corporate finance, restructuring, strategic planning, audit, internal controls, advisory and compliance.

Mr. Abbas El Sayed joined GB Auto in 2014 as Group Vice President Finance.

Mr. Sherif Samir Tawadros

Director

Mr Tawadros holds a BA in Business Administration, Finance and Banking from the American University in Cairo and therefore a Master’s degree in Finance and Banking from Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.

He gained over 25 years experience in Xerox, where he served initially as Chief Financial Officer and as Vice president thereafter. He also served as General Manager in Egyptian German Automotive Co SAE. He joined GB Capital SAE in 2019, where he serves as Senior Vice President. He currently has vast experience in Management, Business Leadership and working with Board of Directors, Finance and Banking Industry with an established record of success in significantly growing enterprise value.

He has also gained significant experience in budgets, cash forecast, business valuations, business projects and audits and comprehensive experience, in-depth experience across all corporate finance, accounting, planning and Treasury Functions.

Andreas Giorgakis

Director

Mr. Giorgakis studied in the UK and is a holder of a BSc degree in Accounting & Finance from the University of Warwick. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) and a member of the Cyprus Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He began his career as an external auditor working for KPMG in Cyprus for 6 years being engaged in a diverse array of client assignments, both in Cyprus and abroad. He was also involved in a number of due diligence and IPO projects for the listing of large, multinational groups of companies in the London and Warsaw Stock Exchanges.

Since leaving KPMG, Andreas decided to specialise in the structuring and running of investment holding companies. He has since held a number of high-profile directorships in the field with investments ranging from real estate, private equity and private equity funds, intellectual property and other intangibles. He was also appointed as Financial Controller to an international group specialised in software development and maintenance services for the information and communication technology industry. He is a hands on leader who has wide ranging expertise in corporate structuring and administration, financial reporting, consolidations and taxation.

Vassilis Solomonides

Operations Director

Vassilis has graduated from the Business School of the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in the United Kingdom obtaining a Bachelor degree with honours in Accounting and Finance and subsequently qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.

Currently Vassilis is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Vassilis has begun his professional career as an external auditor, under the employment of KPMG Cyprus, for a period 4 years, during which he was given the opportunity to gain significant experience within the audit profession, enabling him to grasp knowledge within various sectors and industries, including those of real estate, investment, financing, trading and shipping.

Following his departure from KPMG, Vassilis undertook different roles through his employment as Chief Accountant of a medium sized Corporate Services and Fiduciary Company for a period of 4+ years and as a tutor for the ICAEW qualification, achieving outstanding results.

Since then, Vassilis has acquired significant knowledge in areas of corporate reporting, corporation tax, VAT, consolidated reporting and in the administration of Companies, primarily engaged in the acquisition and holding of securities and the provision of loan financing to group Companies.

Vassilis is native in Greek and fluent in English, and has basic knowledge of French and Lebanese Arabic.

Valentina Hadjithoma

Finance Director

Valentina is a holder of a Bachelor degree in Accounting from the European University of Cyprus. She is a member of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAC). With over 16 years of extensive experience in the accounting sector, Valentina has managed diverse portfolios of companies engaged in various activities. Her expertise spans across financial reporting, corporate governance, corporation tax, VAT compliance, and more.

Throughout her career, Valentina has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Valentina’s comprehensive knowledge of corporation tax laws and regulations allows her to prepare tax returns, optimize tax strategies, and ensure compliance with tax obligations. Her expertise in VAT regulations includes preparing VAT returns, conducting VAT audits, and providing advisory services to optimize VAT processes.

Valentina is native in Greek and fluent in English language.
